How to Bounce Back from Hard Times in Southlake TX

When Southlake homes owners are faced with financial difficulties they know how to bounce back. The difficulties often cannot be helped but when the time comes to recover, the course of action you take will determine the recovery time. Owners of Southlake homes have been faced with many problems due to life circumstances that they could not help at the time. However, once the crisis was behind them they learned how to pick up the pieces and bounce back from the hard times they were facing.

One of the problems facing Southlake homes owners as well as many other areas of the country is bankruptcy. The best thing to do is to avoid filing bankruptcy if you can but if your income is not going to take care of all the bills at the end of the month, you may have no choice. For some this is the equivalent of starting anew. There are no debts outstanding and after filing once, you have to wait 8 years to file again. So part of your recovery will be rebuilding your credit.

It does not take as long as people think after filing bankruptcy to start working on rebuilding your credit. Yes, the bankruptcy will stay on your credit report for many years, but you can still learn how to come back with a new attitude towards spending. There are several ways to cut back. Eat at home more. Cooking is a great way to save money over eating out all the time. Conserve energy in your home so your bills are not so high. The more things you can think of doing to save money, the more money you will have as a safety net in case something unforeseen does happen.

Another life altering circumstance that can happen is foreclosure. The number of people facing this presently according to the Mortgage Banker’s Association results of a National Delinquency Survey is 13.16 %. The stigma attached to foreclosure is far worse than bankruptcy. The homeowner will have to bounce back from the emotional aspects because often this can trigger feelings of failure and shock. Finding somewhere else to live is often very traumatic as well, especially if you have been in the home for a while.

The guilt increases when children are involved. Sometimes a foreclosure means they will have to leave the area where they attend school and find new friends. They may have to give up a pet if an apartment is the only option for a residence. There are many aspects of a foreclosure that are going to be difficult to deal with, but if you can face what is happening and look forward to the future, you can bounce back from this difficult time. This may seem next to impossible, but you will find it is indeed possible to get past this.

Make a plan to follow to ensure a more stable financial situation and do not vary from this plan. The best way to recover from financial difficulties is to figure out how to keep this from happening again. You will be stronger for it and proud of yourself for handling the situation.

DFW Connector – Making Dallas Travel Enjoyable?!

DFW Connector

Making Dallas Travel Enjoyable?!

So the time has finally come for us commuters to see the start of the new DFW Connector to be built; even if the completion date is not until 2014 we can still be excited, right?!

The DFW Connector project will cost more than $1 billion and will be completed in several phases. The Connector will make wider lanes and bridges, and add toll lanes on some stretches of the highway. The hope is that it will reduce the headache of commuters who travel the highway exchange of State highways 114 and 121 (stretching through the corridor of Southlake, Grapevine and the north edge of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport) – introducing an expansion of up to 24 lanes of fast(er) moving traffic in some areas of the connector, which can only be seen as a positive addition for all in the area.

Here’s a short video that was made late last month about the DFW Connector and how it is set to bring great relief to us all.

Touted with receiving more stimulus funding than any other highway project in the country, the DFW Connector funding is provided by $667 million in state highway money, $250 million from the federal recovery act and $107 million in bond funding from Proposition 14.

An official start date that NorthGate Contractors J.V. will begin construction on the project is set for February 15, 2010; proposals began for this project back in December 2006.

The Grapevine Convention Center will be holding an Open House for the DFW Connector Project, on February 17th, 2010, starting at 4:00 p.m., with a presentation at 6:30 p.m. and ending by 8:00 p.m. Here you will have the opportunity to learn about the project in detail and ask questions to those that know the project best.
