Main Street Outdoor Adventure – Grapevine TX – May 21 – 23, 2010

Main Street Outdoor Adventure 2010 is getting ready for the 26th annual event that will be the prelude to the summer season in Grapevine, TX. This is a fun-filled time in the historic downtown area of Grapevine that is anticipated eagerly by the residents and visitors alike. The festivities include family fun, outdoor adventures and live entertainment as well as vendors to provide a whole host of items including food, paintings, arts and crafts, apparel, jewelry and more.

Come discover what is waiting for you at the Main Street Outdoor Adventure 2010. The guests of the festival can choose between participating in scuba diving, kayaking, BMX stunts, quad bungee jumping and more. There are grilling demonstrations and great information on places to camp, the Grapevine Sailing Club display, a R.I.S.E. Adventures display, a non-profit organization that provides persons with physical challenges the opportunity to be independent through outdoor experiences and sports.

The Main Street Outdoor Adventure 2010 is a family fun time with entertainment on five stages throughout the day. The music will be a variety of everything from rock to bluegrass. Carnival rides for the whole family will be part of the adventure. Live entertainment for 2010 will include the Fabulous Thunderbirds and the Joe Ely Band as well as many others.

The Gunfighters of the old West is another delightful part of the Main Street Outdoor Adventure 2010 and there will be two pavilions with wines from the state of Texas as well as from Grapevine. Enjoy a corn dog as part of the carnival fare or a piece of funnel cake. The food vendors will have other items as well. The festival will be held all weekend, starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 21st so everyone can find a time to go and enjoy the fabulous events that will be part of the Main Street Outdoor Adventure 2010.

A grilling competition is part of the fun and if you think your skills are the best in the neighborhood, here is the chance to put them to the test. The sessions will include a meat and vegetable to be grilled in your favorite way and the winner will receive a $100 gift card to Central Market as well as being invited to be a part of the Championship competition on Sunday.

Area hotels are providing packages for the Main Street Outdoor Adventure 2010 which include accommodations and passes to the festival for out of town guests. So if you have attended in the past and want to return for this fabulous fun-filled weekend, you can come have a great time. Most of the hotels are providing transportation to and from the festival for guests.

Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers will also host a 10K walk as part of the events on Saturday and those participating will receive a free admission to the Main Street Outdoor Adventure. The walk will include many of the scenic areas in Grapevine and is guaranteed to be an enjoyable time for all.
